Ulmatec Thermal Solutions has been awarded a contract to deliver its Integrated Central Heating System (ICHS) to Pelagic Wind Services’ two Commissioning Service Operation Vessels (CSOV) newbuilds at Cochin Shipyard (NB 151 –“Pelagic Walu” and NB152 – “Pelagic Wahoo”).

Both vessels will be built to Kongsberg Maritime’s UT 5519 HL design, which has been upgraded in terms of operability, safety and lowered fuel consumption.

The ICHS from Ulmatec Thermal Solutions will contribute significantly to lowering fuel consumption and ensure optimum energy efficiency at any time by avoiding fuel consumption for heating purposes from fuel fired boilers:

In operation the system will continuously recover waste heat from the engine’s exhaust gases and cooling water. The waste heat will automatically be re-purposed and distributed by Ulmatec’s proprietary Central Heating Management System to various heat consumers onboard, ensuring all service technicians in the vessel’s extensive accommodation feels comfortable and at home. The autonomous system will minimize fuel consumption from fuel fired boilers and always prioritize free waste heat for consumption, hence optimizing the vessels overall fuel performance at any time.

We congratulate Pelagic Partners and Pelagic Wind Services with a state-of-the-art and forward-looking vessel design in terms of energy efficiency and are grateful for the trust granted us by Cochin Shipyard.
