Why dump surplus heat to sea or air?

Heat can be converted to electricity (AC or DC) and feed your ships grid or battery system. With recent technological advances, combined with a trend towards higher bunker costs and environmental taxation, Heat to Power is an alternative which should be considered, either in newbuilds or as retrofit in existing ships.

Heat to Power will directly make a positive impact on EEDI/EEXI calculations and eventually contribute positively to a ships Carbon Intensity Index (CII).
